I've lived in the East Village nearly my entire adult life.
Having kept a bike on the street for many years, I know the dangers, from careless car drivers, to vandals, thieves, and of course parking tickets. I worried every morning that I would return to where I had parked my bike to find it damaged, with parts missing, or just gone.
I investigated commercial parking garages. Though they said they catered to motorcycles, they often did not have dedicated motorcycle spaces, and just squeezed bikes in between cars without care.
Recognizing the lack of safe bike parking in the neighborhood, I established CycleGarage in 1995. My goal was to create a clean, safe motorcycle and scooter only garage-- a place for people who cared about their bikes to keep them secure. We've been going strong since then, and welcome new motorcycle enthusiasts. We often have a waiting list for a parking spot, so contact us early in your search.
